Miriam Leah Gamliel, EdD is the co-founder and director of ATARA: The Arts & Torah Association, supporting religious women in the creative and performing arts. With ATARA she brought religious female English speaking artists together for community, performances and master classes. ATARA currently collates the work of observant female artists in the form of playlists and monthly news relating to arts work in the Orthodox community worldwide. Outside of ATARA, Miriam Leah recently completed her doctorate in Jewish education with a focus on the needs of creatively gifted students and the overlap between creativity and spirituality. She has directed and produced theater, film, and extra-curricular arts programming, performed and taught in the fields of voice, acting, and dance, and writes theater scripts and children’s literature.
Miriam Leah is originally from Pittsburgh, PA but resides in Montreal, currently working on her biggest challenge of mothering three young children during Covid.
