Bereishis 4:7

הֲל֤וֹא אִם־תֵּיטִיב֙ שְׂאֵ֔ת וְאִם֙ לֹ֣א תֵיטִ֔יב לַפֶּ֖תַח חַטָּ֣את רֹבֵ֑ץ וְאֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ תְּשׁ֣וּקָת֔וֹ וְאַתָּ֖ה תִּמְשׇׁל־בּֽוֹ׃
Surely, if you do right,There is uplift.But if you do not do rightSin couches at the door;Its urge is toward you,Yet you can be its master.”

הֲלָא אִם תּוֹטִיב עוֹבָדָךְ יִשְׁתְּבֵק לָךְ וְאִם לָא תּוֹטִיב עוֹבָדָךְ לְיוֹם דִּינָא חֶטְאָךְ נְטִיר דִיעֲתִיד לְאִתְפָּרְעָא מִנָּךְ אִם לָא תְתוּב וְאִם תְּתוּב יִשְׁתְּבֵק לָךְ:
Is this not so—if you improve [your actions], there is forgiveness [for you], but if you do not improve [your actions], sin rests at the opening [your sin will be kept for the Day of Judgement]. Its desire is unto you, but you can dominate it. [For in the future, it will be exacted from you if you do not repent. And if you repent, there is forgiveness.]
